A gorgeous wedding up at Alta Lodge last summer. I used wheat, dahlias, zinnias, roses, millet, stock, and hydrangea. The bride wanted lots of fun details like, mason jars, natural twine and burlap. The mason jar & twine wedding was a very popular look for the summer of 2011.

This was a beautiful mountain wedding up at The Canyon's. Shoot, I didn't bring my camera for set up. I always do that! Love the lime green coxcomb (celosia). It adds such a great color and marvelous texture.

I would have to say, I think I make such lovely boutonnieres. I really take a lot of time in creating them. Most blooms are wired and taped together, then the entire stem is wrapped in coordinating ribbon. Gorgeous! My boutonnieres usually average between $10.00-$15.00 each.

Orange

I love orange. Orange flowers look so great paired with whites and creams to create a crisp fresh summery feel. We were supposed to have orange ranunculus rockin in this bouquet, but alas, sometimes they are just not in season. Ranunculus have increased in popularity as of late. They really are beautiful, I especially adore their round papery petals. I would say they are in season most of the year, but on and off sometimes. Oh geeze, that really is confusing.

Oh dear. I'm really behind on SO many post from summer and fall weddings. It was one of La Fleur's busiest wedding seasons, and I've been taking some much needed time off. The Canyon's

These simple photographs of mine do not do justice to the beauty of this wedding! I've got to get my hands on some professional pics. These colors, varieties and textures are my most favorite to work with. I used roses, rose hips, black agonis, billy balls, sunflowers, mini calla lilies, curly willow, hydrangea, celosia and dahlias.

This gorgeous wedding was held up at Red Pine Lodge at The Canyon's Resort. It's not the easiest of set up's (picture me and my team running back and forth loading up the gondola as it's moving, trying to get everything in without smashing all the beautiful blooms!). Serious sweat running down my face. Quite a site I'm sure. The location is well worth it though. Gorgeous mountain views!

This wedding was up at Stein Eriksen Lodge. Wow, one of the most beautiful venues (stay tuned for many more weddings held at this same venue!). The bride wanted a Parisian feel with a touch of mountain. We came up with a white, cream and lavender color scheme. Love how it all turned out. The chuppah was inspired by a picture the bride found, but I added my own touches. I used garden roses, roses, lavender, russian sage, dahlias, variegated pitt, & ivy.

Good thing it was easy to move the dinner indoors, because this sucker blew over when a giant storm blew by.

All these bright colorful bouquets are so much fun! We used circus roses, freesia, mini calla lilies, dendrob. orchids, buplerum, hypericum berries and hydrangeas. The large flower balls for the ceremony turned out so gorgeous! I love Sundance for weddings, one of my favorite venues. p.s. I really need to find another spot to take pictures, other than my dining room table!

Wow! I love using hydrangea for weddings. It's one of the most common flowers I use in my designs. I just love the full fluffy mounds, yum. This was for a wedding up at Millcreek Inn. All the greens, purples and blues look so lovely against the trees.

Mexican Flavors!

My friend Kathryn got married at the end of June and I was so honored to create the flowers for her big day. This was a ever changing process but finally everything came together and the results are stunning! Kathryn and her husband had traveled to Mexico during their engagement and fell in love with the culture, colors and food. They really wanted to incorporate their love for Mexico within their wedding design. Lauren from Saucy & Kitch did such an amazing job with the planning and coordinating. I haven't seen the professional images yet...I'm dying to see those!

The ceremony was held at the 15th Street Gallery. What a lovely white clean space. We kept personal flowers in shades of yellow, gray, and greens. Lots of succulents.....my favorite! I also used billy balls, scabiosa pods, ranunculus, dahlias, and mini calla lilies.

The reception site was transformed into a funky Mexican paradise. I loved all the details!

Park City Mountain Resort

Britney's wedding up in a meadow above Park City was so beautiful. We had to ride the lift up to set up, so we limited the ceremony flowers to small bunches tied onto the chairs going down the aisle. After set up, I grabbed my tool bag and jumped onto the Alpine Slide and zoomed down to set up the reception flowers. What a way to exit.

The color scheme was dark eggplant, purple, white and chartreuse green. A lovely color combo for summer months. The bride wanted a floating flower centerpiece and I really like how they turned out. Simple, but just a little bit different than the norm. We used mini calla lilies, orchids, gerber daisies, hydrangea, hypericum berry, and roses.

Loved this wedding. I think I say that every blog post! The beautiful ceremony was held in a Hindu Temple out in South Jordan. What a peaceful place. I don't think I've ever been so relaxed setting up a wedding ceremony. The scent of incense, the chanting of the faithful, it was all so wonderful. To bad it was really hot and I had sweat pouring down my forehead. I made a lush garland of carnations and marigolds to drape over the Mandap.

The reception was held up at Log Haven. The bride wanted a tropical feel to her flowers with lots of bright colors. I used protea, kangaroo paw, birds of paradise, snake grass, bear grass, gerber daisies, lilies, ti leaves, and curly willow branches. All the centerpieces were a little different which makes things a bit more interesting.

Love this eclectic vintage style look. We used old jars, milk glass and other various vases. The look was to be a bit retro/vintage with a garden like feel. I think we did a good job capturing the brides vision. We used delphinium, queen anne's lace, poppy pods, roses, hydrangea, kermit mums, freesia, and dahlias.

Ack! I'm so behind on my blogging! La Fleur has been very busy with weddings this late Spring and Summer. Stay tuned to see some amazing weddings. The first wedding I'm going to highlight is Maria's. She was such a lovely bride! Please forgive me for my horrible photography. I really need to get a hold of Duston Todd to see some of the images he captured. I didn't even take one photograph on the bridal bouquet. It was a cascading style with calla lilies, orchids, peonies, hydrangeas and more! I don't do a lot of cascading style bouquets but I think it turned out beautiful. More an more brides are choosing that loose cascading style.

The beautiful reception was held at the Downtown Marriott. We used shades of pink, ivory and green. Flowers used were peonies (so beautiful!) orchids, calla lilies, roses, & freesia.

Marijane was such a lovely bride! I loved her vision on the type of floral look she wanted to have out at Tuscany. Lots of lush garden types of flowers. Peonies, lilac, garden roses, roses, stock, and hydrangea. All in shades of pink, apricot, peach and cream. It turned out so romantic and I love how it looked in the rustic log room of Tuscany. Sorry for my lame photography, can't wait to see the professional pics!

A Wedding I'll Never Forget

Stacy's wedding up at Log Haven turned out so beautiful! It was snowy and cozy yet the flowers had the look of spring. I love all the images from this intimate wedding, courtesy of Erin Kate Photography. I used the most AMAZING ranunculus I have ever seen in my life, roses, hyacinth, hydrangea, dusty miller, & eucalyptus. All in shades of peach, cream, champagne, and silvery green. Yum!

I never really forget any wedding that I've done, but this one was special. I had my baby girl Olive the same day as Stacy's wedding! Olive came 10 days early! So..... as I was putting the the finishing touches on the bridal bouquet (twine wrapped stems) my water was breaking. How exciting! I finished everything up and the brides friends came to pick up the flowers and off I went to the hospital. The rest is history.

This was one of my all time favorite weddings La Fleur has created up at Empire Lodge in Deer Valley. The bride choose a color scheme of peach, cream, green and brown. A little unconventional for a winter wedding. I just love how it turned out. For her ceremony we created a large Chuppah using linen covered pots, birch poles, & creamy sheer fabric. We adorned the structure with vines, fresh greens, hydrangea blooms, roses, & gerber daisies. So romantic!

Table centerpieces were birch containers filled with white hydrangea surrounded by clumps of fresh moss and pine cones. Very rustic yet elegant! One of my favorite touches was the escort card table. I notched out birch logs to hold escort cards and used the same birch arrangements between the logs. The birch look for weddings has become more and more popular. I have to say I was inspired by other designers and of course Martha Stewart.

I love the freshness of this color combo. We have the bright bold colors, but everything is lightened up by the addition of white. It's very clean and modern looking. We have used safflower, dahlias, roses, mini calla lilies, celosia, hydrangea, echinacea cones, scabiosa pods and rose hip. This wedding took place at a private residence up in Bountiful and it just happens to be the wedding of one of my best friends Kourtney!

Wreath Class

This years Wreath Making Class was a huge success! I had 16 students that all made such unique and professional holiday wreaths. It's fun to see how each wreath turns out so differently yet all students had the exact same materials to work with. I supplied all fresh greenery and berries such as bay leaf, baby eucalyptus, eucalyptus bell pods, seeded eucalyptus, juniper, noble fir, princess pine, & pepper berries. The night was topped off with freshly baked Mrs. Fields cookies! I will be doing this class again next year so I hope everyone signs up again and I hope to see some new students as well. Cheers!

I love working on smaller intimate weddings. It's not stressful and I really enjoy getting creative! I only snapped a few photos of this beautiful bouquet. I wish I would have taken a picture of the cake it was divine! I also need to think of a way to get some images of boutonnieres and corsages. I never think to take pictures of those particular items myself. I have to say I really love how my boutonnieres turn out!

This cute bride is from Arizona but wanted her bridals up in the gorgeous mountains of Utah. She found my website and knew she wanted me to make her bouquet. She really wanted a nice fall inspired bouquet that would complement the changing leaves up the canyon. I used hydrangea, roses, rose hips, flame mini calla lilies and plump white snowberries!

Oh what glorious color! Shades of purple and cream. I love that combo- and with all the wildflower/sunflower weddings I did this past summer, it was a nice change. This beautiful wedding took place up at Silver Lake Lodge, Deer Valley in September. The bride wanted lots of purple and cream for the ceremony and for the reception, strictly cream. The dining room looked stunning in all creamy whites.

In our designs we used loads of purple roses (Coolwater & Amnesia), Cream roses (Tibet & Vendella), Purple & White Hydrangea, White Oriental Lilies, White Calla Lilies, Purple Mini Calla Lilies, Lisianthus, Gardenias, Purple & White Dendrobium Orchids, Stock, Dahlias, & Manzanita Branches.

The brides bouquet has been one of my all time favorites! White hydrangea, cream roses, and the most fragrant gardenias. I love how it turned out if I do say so myself. It was such a pleasure working with Jen. She was easy going, knew what she wanted and obviously was drop dead gorgeous! I love my job :)

This particular bride wanted her bridal bouquet to be wrapped in fresh ti leaves and bound with a little ribbon. Unfortunately the bottom leaf was removed somehow?? I really secured that sucker on good! Anyhoo, don't mind the green tape bounding the stems together. Ha!

Oh I'm so behind on blogging. I have many weddings to share with you all. This simple yet gorgeous wedding took place up at Empire Lodge in Deer Valley. The bride wanted lots of purple and white. This is what I came up with! I used roses, hydrangea, freesia, fern curls, calla lilies, and green hypericum berry. This summer was jammed packed full of weddings and I couldn't have enjoyed all my brides any more. I truly feel so blessed to work with such wonderful people and to work with such gorgeous materials. It makes me smile.

I'm such a bad blogger. I'm only just getting pictures of this gorgeous wedding up now. Wait until you see the photographers images, stunning! This is the summer of the mountain wildflower weddings. It seems like all the brides have wanted sunflowers, lavender, fresh herbs, blue delphinium, etc. The look they want is a casual (yet elegant) wildflower inspired wedding. It's as if I went into the green mountains with my snips in hand and harvested all the flowers. Of course I put my own La Fleur touch to bouquets and arrangements so they look a little more composed. I loved how everything turned out. What do you think?

Holy wildflowers! Meredith was seriously such a gorgeous bride, I loved working with her on her mountain wedding. Ok, don't worry about it, I had to load all the flowers onto the moving gondola at the Canyons Resort to get up to Red Pine Lodge. I made it, but got a little worried when the gondola stalled while hundreds of feet in the air clutching onto to her magnificent bridal bouquet. Whew! Didn't get any of the ceremony site unfortunately but I've seen a sneak peek from the photographer and he got some great shots!

Flowers used: iris, peonies, veronica, rosemary, asiatic lilies, roses, lavender, calla lilies, dahlias, and celosia.

A few weeks ago La Fleur teamed up with Riehl Events to create lovely floral designs for a Indian wedding celebration. Thursday night was a traditional Mehndi ceremony. I decorated the Mandap with garland of bright yellow carnations accented with green hanging amaranthus. So sad that I forgot my camera, so no photos. It was gorgeous believe me!

Saturday was the traditional American ceremony followed by a huge party at Rice Eccles. We decorated all the long 30' tables with fresh greenery, blooming jasmine, spider mums, orchids, bowls of purple alstromeria and rose petals. It looked really amazing!

Rachel

Rachel had her wedding up at Rose Sachs Gardens last week. I have never done an event up at the gardens before and I have to tell you, it was beautiful. It's just minutes up Parley's Canyon but you feel away from it all. The winds were picking up so we had a hard time lighting candles and Matt had to stand guard next to the ceremony arrangements so they didn't knock over. He disappeared right before the bridal party starting walking.... he is good, oh so good.

Bridal bouquet of eggplant & flame mini callas, dahlias, variegated pitt, milva roses, super green roses, & green hypericum. Stems were wrapped in plum colored ribbon.

Accents of cut lemon & limes were used throughout the floral design. This cake was so hard to decorate in the gusting wind but I managed to pull it all together!

Again the lemon & lime theme on the inside tables. Loved how bright and summery everything felt.

Liz's Grand Affair

Liz's wedding was so much fun to work on. Not only because she was a super cool bride but that she picked uncommon colors and themes. The color scheme was aqua and red....so fun! They also had a vintage tennis theme going on with so many creative details. Her ceremony took place outside in the Grand Salon Courtyard of The Grand America. It was a morning ceremony so the air was crisp & fresh. Not a cloud in the sky. So gorgeous. We did two different styles of centerpieces. One was in a aqua ribbon wrapped vase and the other were in tall silver glass squares. I used roses, dahlias, ranunculus, gerbera daisies, spray roses, & carnations all in shades of red. Other accents were hydrangea, red dogwood and seeded eucalyptus. Here are a few images.....

Britt's Sundance Wedding

Wow, what a great Memorial Day wedding weekend by La Fleur. 3 weddings and 1 bridal sitting bouquet!! It's so fun working on all these amazing weddings! This wedding featured is Britt's big day down in Sundance. We had our fingers crossed for good weather and it worked! Spectacular views of partly snowy mountains, green lower hills and the start of blooming trees and flowers. The sun was creeping through the dark clouds creating amazing light and shadows. Her ceremony was out on the deck by the Creekside Room. So lovely. I decorated a wooden archway with variegated pitt, orchids, hydrangea, queen anne's lace and ginkgo leaves. The entire theme & symbol of the wedding was the ginkgo leaf which had sentimental value for the bride. The aisle was covered in white rose petals and single gingko leaves. Her are a few of my pictures. So sad that I didn't snap a picture of the bridal bouquet. Looking forward to seeing the professional images....

A Little Greener.....

The Earth & Mother Nature are very important to La Fleur and I am always striving to make conscious smart decisions on how to run my company.

The floral design world is a messy, dirty job that creates piles (and I mean piles) of waste and garbage. Ug! People it's not pretty! However, there is always a beautiful end product and that makes it all worth while. I try to do my best to reduce, reuse, recycle. These are some examples of what I'm doing to become a little greener....

*All flower bunches come in plastic sleeves and roses have the plastic and cardboard paper dividers. I always separate the plastic & cardboard and toss it all into the recycle bin. It's kind of a pain, but it really is so much plastic, how can I not? I also always bring back cardboard boxes that my flowers come in to my local wholesaler, and in turn, they reuse them.

*After all the flowers are cleaned and processed into water, you have piles of leaves, branches and stems. From spring to fall in Salt Lake City you can get a special garbage can that is strictly for organic product- yard waste, vegetable peels, stuff that can be used for mulch. I'm a pro a separating my garbage folks. I lug out all the green waste and put it in the mulch bin.
I'm not saying I'm perfect and that I never just throw stems and sleeves away because that happens sometimes.....I try my best though!

*When I deliver weddings I pack up boutonnieres & corsages in cellophane bags. I try to keep them in good shape so I can reuse them a few times.

This is an inspiration board that one of my brides created. Love this idea! It really helps me understand what kind of event she is after and that always helps designing and creating the flowers. I'm on the hunt for some different aqua colored containers! I'm thinking a mix of old blueish glass bottles and newer ceramic containers with an old-world crackle aqua finish. A Winter Wonderland

This was by far one of the coziest weddings I have ever done. Empire Canyon Lodge in January. Snow covered mountains, dusted white pines, a roaring fireplace, what's not to love? I worked with the brides brother Scott on all the details of this wedding. He wanted primarily whites, with touches of icy blue and green. I loved how everything turned out. Simple, fresh and frosted. Candles and galvanized lanterns were used throughout the lodge to invoke a very romantic feel. I used white hydrangea, dusty miller, white tulips, white orchids, white mini calla lilies, Queen Anne's Lace and "snow" covered red dogwood and manzanita branches.

Spring Time..... In Winter!?

This past weekend La Fleur created a spring like setting within the walls of the Rehearsal Hall down in snowy Sundance. Inside was bright and cheerful and outside was cold and wintry. Fun! I can't wait to see the professional shots of this wedding. Brooke had 10 bridesmaids and they all were decked out in different brightly colored dresses. Bouquets were made of red and orange ranunculus, & red, orange and hot pink roses. The ribbon wraps were aqua with longer ribbon tails. It all looked so amazing together.

We created a Chuppah out of birch logs, terracotta pots filled with moss & gorgeous sheer fabric. Each top branch had a cluster of queen anne's lace, roses, & hydrangea tied on with long ribbon knots. I love how the entire ceremony site looked. Very elegant, yet simple. A good contrast to the bright colors of the reception.

Brooke decided on long family style tables with glass cubes going down the middle. We did one cube of green hydrangea, one of orange tulips, one of red roses, one of pink roses, etc. Solid blocks of color. The rounds had taller branch style centerpieces with a mix of colors and flowers or a cluster of 3 brightly colored cubes.

This couple was the cutest and I had such a fun time working with both of them! Please watch for more images coming soon!

Sassy & Jordy

Oh what a lovely day in October. A bit chilly, but visually stunning! Sassy and Jordan really wanted a fall jewel tone floral wedding scheme, and I was happy to oblige. I used hydrangea in muddled tones of green, blue, purple and burgundy. Hydrangea is one of my all time favorite flowers to use in weddings, especially in the fall when it's at the height of perfection. The hydrangea was accented with black dahlias, orange coxcomb, flame mini callas, & an array of gorgeous roses. The ceremony was out on the patio overlooking the ski runs of Snowbird. We really needed to bundle up folks, it was a balmy 40 degrees. I just love how everything turned out. It's truly the best to design flowers for one of your best buds. Congrats Sassy & Jordan!!!!

80th Birthday Bash!

I was asked by one of my favorite clients to create some beautiful centerpieces for a 80th Birthday Party at the Salt Lake Country Club. The birthday girl wanted old fashion roses in shades of pink and cream. I used gorgeous full and ruffled Esperance roses, along with Virginia & Charming Unique roses. Soft pale green Dusty Miller was tucked in throughout to give that vintage look. I found some tulle dotted with rhinestones and I softly draped it around and over the arrangement to give the illusion of an old fashioned hat with veil.

Young Artists

I was asked by Kimball Art Center to come up and teach a wreath making class with the young artists group. I jumped at the opportunity! I absolutely love teaching floral classes and especially to kids. The class ranged from about 10 year olds to Sophomores in high school. You should have seen what creations they come up with! I brought up loads of salal, seeded eucalyptus, juniper, cedar, peacock feathers, reindeer moss, & dried hydrangea. The wreaths looked so unique, yet all students had the exact same materials to work with. Next week they will be adding mixed media art to decorate the wreaths further. The wreaths will be hung in the gallery for all of November and will be up for sale! Awesome. Here are a few pics from the fun evening.

The unique arrangement would look lovely for a ceremony or maybe a simplified version for a table centerpiece.

Love the look of thick strips of rose petals down the aisle for a romantic ceremony. For a winter wedding, I would use white petals for an icy look.

A classic look with pillar candles and rose petals.

I like the use of these frosted vases down the aisle. Clear glass looks equally as cool. I do however prefer the look of fresh rose petals instead of the confetti.

Marilyn Monroe eat your heart out. Can you believe this over-the-top old Hollywood inspired wedding? Love it! Shanna was such a cool bride and her mom Suzie is to die for! We had so much fun planning the flowers for this wedding. The plan changed a few times but I think we ended up with a slam dunk.

I'm really hoping Lindsay's photographer got a better picture of her amazing bouquet! Dark eggplant and chartreuse green are a very popular color combination. I used eggplant calla lilies, berzelia berry, agonis, fern curls, mini green cymbidium orchids, and mini green hydrangea. The stems are wrapped with a dark eggplant ribbon. Love how it turned out!

Lindsay's wedding was up at the rustic yet romantic Millcreek Inn. We did large manzanita branch arrangements with clusters of kermit mums, green hydrangea and green orchids. Delicate glass votives were hung from the branches.

Shanna's Bridals

Oh boy do I love this bouquet! So summery and old fashion. Yes, this is the look the bride was after. Shanna was doing a vintage style photo shoot and wanted a bouquet to fit with that theme. I used queen anne's lace, ranunculus, vendella roses, mini green hydrangea, & alstromeria. Can't wait to see how the pictures turned out. Stay tuned for her wedding this month.

Saemi at Sundance

Gorgeous colors for this romantic wedding down at the Sundance Resort. The bride Saemi wanted a romantic and traditional feel, so we used tons of roses, rose petals and hydrangea. She wanted shades of purple, reds, whites with gold accents. I ended up using white peonies, white & purple hydrangea, purple mini calla lilies, green hanging amaranthus, red "luna rossa" roses and purple "coolwater" roses. It all ended up looking very elegant. I wrapped the vases in beautiful gold ribbon and I think it looked great with the gold and purple linens. Wow, all I can say that it was so scary getting up on a ladder and hanging the fresh flower wreaths. That ceiling is so high, I thought I was going to die. Thankfully, my darling husband came down and hung the remainder of the wreaths. Life savor!!!! Again, these are just a few quick snapshots and I'll post the professional pics as soon as I can get my hands on them!

Amy Preview

The following pics are from Amy's wedding on June 13th. Her ceremony was at the breathtakingly beautiful Greek Orthodox church downtown and her reception was held at the Grand America. I seriously need to get a new camera, my pictures do not do justice to these vibrant flowers. I will have the professional photos posted soon, so please check back.

Amy loves flowers and loves color, so she pretty much gave me the go ahead to create whatever I thought would be amazing. The royal blue of the bridesmaid dressed just popped with bouquets of intense color. I tend to design with bright bold color in mind, more so then pastels. I used white peonies, blue hydrangea, red tulips, orange & hot pink roses, yellow freesia, and orange celosia. I love how this wedding turned out. We were setting up the flowers on the outside of the church as that huge dark rain storm started to blow into downtown Salt Lake City. Allison was drenched trying to save the gathered bunches! 200 red roses were used for rose petals that blanketed the church aisle. It was so romantic!

Art In Bloom

A few weekends ago I participated in a really cool event called Art In Bloom. It was held at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts on the University of Utah campus. It's an event celebrating the convergence of fine art and flowers. Over 30 of Utah's top floral designers interpreted art objects from the UMFA's collection. I chose a Nez Perce tribe dress made of buckskin and beading. When I went in to pick my art piece, the Native American artifacts drew me in like a laser beam. I think I must have been an indian girl in a past life. I felt so inspired to pick the dress as my art object! My mind instantly started to think up creative ideas for my floral design. I decided to use one of my blue metal containers and fill it with "gathered" type flowers and branches. I wanted it to look like I went up into the mountains and harvested whatever I could find. I actually did do some late night harvesting up City Creek Canyon for loads of sagebrush. The sage was my anchoring design element to my piece. I also used tiger branches, dark blue hybrid delphinium, red ranunculus (to imitate Indian Paintbrush) and used accents of feathers, blue glass beads & suede. It was such a honor to be a part of this event! Everyone's floral designs were so amazing.

Judge High Floral Class

So, I was asked by a friend of mine to teach a floral design workshop at Judge High this past Monday. I jumped at the opportunity because teaching floral design is one of my favorite things. I have taught flower workshops before but always with adult students. This class was going to be rowdy senior boys and girls. I didn't know what to expect! The class was a huge success and you should have seen some of the arrangements. Gorgeous! We used seeded eucalyptus, myrtle, hot pink spray roses, wax flower, & billy balls. There was a buzz of excitement as I opened all the different wraps of flowers. I think a few of the girls almost fainted!

The students really did pay attention to my instructions, but I made sure they knew there was no right or wrong way to make an arrangement. It's up to you, your creativity and inspiration. So mad at myself that I forgot my camera. The moment will have to live within my memory.

A Taste of Spring

I love going out into the yard to forage for spring blooms. Making quick arrangements with freshly snipped flowers from outside is one of my favorite things to do. You never know what you may find out there...you have to push back the branches and leaves, and get on your knees to find those hidden gems. I have even been known to wonder into the neighbors yard for a sneaky harvest. I have fond memories of being a young girl and going out back and making little flower arrangements for my mom.

Cucina Nassi

So I have been working with this new amazing banquet center called Cucina Nassi. They have the same owner as Cucina Toscana....you know- that awesome Italian restaurant downtown. Love that place! Anyway, they just opened the space in December and it really is so elegant. I would love to do a wedding or event there someday. I'm in the works to help with some table centerpieces that will be changed out monthly. It's a bit of a challenge, something that looks beautiful but that will dry kinda nice. I'm going to bring a sample arrangement next week. I've ordered artichokes, sunflowers, lavender, & safari sunset. Very Tuscan wouldn't you say? I had to go in yesterday to chat with the general manager Justin. He is such a cool guy! I even was invited to stay and have lunch. He snapped his fingers and the chef brought out the most amazing lunch. Spinach salad with mushrooms and goat cheese, and fresh pasta with red sauce and shrimp. Delicious! Justin wants to give my name out to all his clients and I'm just honored and completely thrilled.

I really like the use of brightly colored gerber daisies with the dark centers. I know you don't want all gerbers, but they would like nice as an accent flower. Tell me what you think about the other images!

Paul & Jason Flower Ideas

I love the look of the silvery whites for your wedding. Tall vases filled with blooming branches would look so amazing up front on either side of you for the ceremony. Another option would be to have blooming branches and then white flowers clustered at the base for a more modern look.

Clusters of roses, greenery and pine cones could be tied onto each chair down the aisle. This would really define the space and an elegant touch.

I love all of the ideas for table centerpieces. The addition of pine cones would really incorporate the motif of your invitations. I don't think we need to go crazy with pine cones, but subtle touches would be nice. I've shown one centerpiece that has white hydrangea and pussy willow sticking up out of the middle. I like how they have wrapped the vase in ribbon. I have actually done this before with ribbon and fabric. We could wrap the vases in a charcoal color ribbon with silver accents to pull in the colors from your invitations. We really have so many options for centerpieces!

Kristin's Wedding La Caille

This wedding was so wintery and festive, but not Christmasy. I used cream roses, magnolia, bayleaf, white mini calla lilies, hydrangea and got that touch of red with fresh gorgeous red pears. Kristin's bouquet was very beautiful, I'll get a picture from the photographer sometime. It was all white and greens accented with dark eggplant mini callas!

Sam and Kierstin were such a great couple, I absolutely LOVED working with them. Sam's brother Will and I used to work at Roots back in the day. Boy did we have such wild times together. It was so great seeing him and catching up. The Fall colors, textures and flowers that I used are my all-time favorites. I used rose hips, roses, fall leaves, mini calla lilies, hydrangea, millet, & dahlias. The bride loved her bouquet, and there is nothing better than to hear those words! Score! This wedding was so beautiful! I used fresh herbs such as rosemary, mint, sage, and lavender in the centerpieces and in the bouquets. I can't even begin to tell you what a glorious scent they made. The ceremony was planned for outdoors and we barely made it in time. A HUGE snow storm was on it's way. After the ceremony guests ran inside and had a cozy evening by the roaring fires. Staci was a bride that was so easy to work with. I loved all her ideas and input. I only have these two images, but I'm in the process of getting more from the photographer. I swear, every wedding this summer I forgot my camera!!
