Winter Wonderland

Log Haven up Millcreek Canyon is one of my favorite venues in the summer, but it's especially cozy and beautiful during the winter months. My client wanted tons of blue spruce and bay with soft ivory and blush flowers mixed in. I snuck during the darkness of night and clipped with blue spruce from a large tree in my neighborhood. I'm so dangerous!

Love the bright happy faces of sunflowers. They really add life to this arrangement!

Bright & Bold

I made it through a big move and the holidays, and now I'm ready to start blogging again, and I'm updating my website right now too! So much to do, so little time. Last summer was full of soft muted tones of peach, apricot, blush and ivory, so this bright bold color palette was a nice change.

I'm still here!!!

Hello friends!!! Yes I'm still here, and yes I've been busier than ever. Between weddings, events, kids, family, moving and writing my very first book, this blog and my website have taken a back burner. I'm really going to try to update more often and I have a completely new website in the works. High five! However, I keep up on Instagram quite often, so follow me there at nkbernhisel. Oh boy do I have lot to share with you. I think I'll start from the most recent and work my way back through the summer. Have you been up to High Star Ranch in Kamas, Utah? It's amazing and one of my favorite new venues. Of course all my September weddings were rainy, but that didn't stop incredible weddings from happening!!! Here are a few pictures from Hillary's wedding up at High Star Ranch.

A simple and classic yellow and white wedding. A intimate setting at a private home in Park City. Stunning views, gorgeous weather and amazing flowers!

I absolutely love doing weddings in the fall. I love the colors, textures and available flowers. Take a look at this gorgeous bouquet!!!!! The centerpieces turned out amazing as well. I used rose hips, hydrangea, russian sage, scabiosa pods, succulents, smoke bush, roses, & rosemary. Wedding took place at the beautiful Hotel Park City. Saucy and Kitsch did all the planning!

Tea Pots

Tea pots & tea cups oh my! I had about a million little cups to fill for this sweet wedding. My work area looked like a china shop in England. I used dahlias, roses, queen annes lace, dusty miller, petal-less sunflowers, billy balls, hydrangea & roses.

Orange & Purple

Looooove this orange and purple bouquet. I will never get sick of using succulents.

The Homestead

This was such a beautiful and whimsical wedding that took place up at The Homestead in Midway, Utah. This awesome couple decided to get creative and had their ceremony on top of the crater. The crater is a giant geyser looking mound that guests can hike up to get amazing 360 views of the surrounding mountains. Within and below the top of the crater is a natural hot springs you can soak in. The Homestead actually renovated the top of the crater to now host wedding ceremonies. It was blazing hot, so I didn't really take any pictures of the site :( Need to get a hold of some of the professional shots. This bride wanted a very organic and meadow like look to her flower designs. We used ferns, delphinium, scabiosa pods, iris, stock, curly willow, bush ivy, kale, kermit mums, fuji mums, rosemary, hydrangea, & statice. It was a nice change of scene using some different varieties of flowers that I don't usually think of. Please brides, challenge me!!!

As designers, I know we get accustomed to using the same flowers and colors time after time. I like changing up the look. I'm glad my creepy nude man painting made it into one of the shots. He loves wedding flowers! Enjoy these photos!

Stein Eriksen

Summer 2012 was the summer of ivory, white & yellow. Soft vintage inspiration in the mountains. This lovely wedding took place on one of the decks of Stein Eriksen Lodge. The weather started acting up, but made for a lovely backdrop. Good thing I tighten this arch down good or it would have been a goner. One of my favorite roses used was the pale yellow Creme De La Creme.

Love the pale blush and ivory tones going on in this bouquet.

Botanic

A beautiful botanical inspired bouquet. Oriental lilies, Dahlias, Hydrangea, Coxcomb, Billy Balls, Artichokes, Scabiosa Pods and looped leaves were used. This bouquet makes my heart go pitter-patter.
