A rainy purple July day

The purple flowers turned so vivid after a fresh rain came rolling in. Empire Lodge, Deer Valley.

Organic & Natural

I've been receiving many requests from brides recently about how they would like their flowers to be very organic & natural. Ok, I can do that! Less and less brides are doing fussy formal arrangements, instead they are turning to natural, wild, loose designs. This was a beautiful May wedding up at Stein Eriksen Lodge. Do you think of bride and groom frolicking in the green hills..... nope. Snow, scarfs, hot chocolate, fireplaces, etc. The weather can turn on you fast in the mountains of Utah. For all the destination brides out there, plan accordingly. May and the first part of June can be iffy. I've done weddings in June when it has snowed in Deer Valley. Yikers! Wendy & Jon were such a lovely couple! I enjoyed seeing their personalities come out in all the wedding details. I really need to get some of the professional pics.... but for now, here are a few of my own.

Loved her bouquet. Hosta leaves, ranunculus, billy balls, rosemary, succulents, hydrangea, dahlias & stock.

Um, how do I take a good picture in low light? Help! The tables had 5 eclectic bottles or jars filled with all different types of flowers. Antique books and candles finished off the entire look.

The chandeliers were a labor of love. Sad that I didn't get a good shot. Fresh green garland wrapped 4 of the chandeliers and then I added hanging votive candles. I used fishing line (I almost went crazy), but the affect was very Harry Potter Hogwarts style.

Glenwild Bohemian

Meghan had a gorgeous party at Glenwild the night before she was married. I think this is becoming a more popular trend in LDS circles. The next morning she was married in the Salt Lake Temple and then had another fun shindig at the new University of Utah Natural History Museum. With the wedding design concepts from Ashley Winn & my floral expertise, I think we created a wedding very bohemian & natural in style. I used ranunculus, billy balls, succulents, brunia, rosemary, roses, dahlias, queen anne's lace, football mums, lisianthus, dusty miller, & safari sunset. I wrapped bouquets and bouts/corsages with a natural linen (loved how that looked!). All the bottles, jars and containers were collected from the brides family & from Ashley. It was so fun mixing up the flowers and containers to create non-matching table designs. I'm really loving eclectic centerpieces, or even two different styles, more than just a sea of all the same centerpiece.

Log Haven Simplicity

I absolutely loved working with Jen at her Log Haven wedding. Such a intimate, creative and cozy affair. Jen really gave me lots of fun ideas for centerpieces. I love that. Sometimes I get in a rut doing the same sorts of centerpieces over and over again. Take a look! I used muscari, hydrangea, dried lotus pods, ranunculus, freesia, rosemary, & delphinium.

Morgan at Empire Lodge

Baby's Breath is making a come back! I actually really like how this wedding turned out, and the bride Morgan, was a dream to work with. Baby's Breath had sentimental value which is always nice to incorporate into your floral designs. It makes it all much more special and memorable. It was such a beautiful snowy day in March. The white, creams, silver and greens looked amazing in cozy Empire Lodge. I'm dying over the white/green anenome's, so beautiful!
